Minutes of the PCCW Meeting
July 9, 2009
Donna Kuhnen called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. It was suggested by Donna that we go around the table to say prayers for thanks and special intentions. The secretary’s report was accepted as read. The treasures report was reviewed and accepted. The treasurers annual report was completed and sent to Joan Endle, parish bookkeeper. Correspondence included a thank you note from the “Rose Lady” from the Wisconsin Right to Life and also a thank you from a Seminarian for cookies and prayers.
Helping Hands
An initial draft of the Helping Hands form was reviewed and discussed. Mary King will make a few changes to the form that were recommended. If anyone is interested in volunteering, Mary King should be notified. Michelle Kuehn volunteered to check each week after the 10:30 Mass for forms submitted. This program will be put into place in September after the Stewardship forms are completed.
Feltes Reception
There were approximately 300 attendees at the reception for Victor Feltes. Everything went very well and Donna thanked everyone who helped.
Spirituality Day
Claire Parr attended the Spirituality Day on June 20th. 3 people attended from the St. Raymond Parish. It was a very nice day.
New Business
Monthly Meeting
Activities
Monthly meeting activities were discussed. The group came up with several ideas. It was suggested that that these activities be put in the Sunday bulletin. It was also suggested that it be placed on a bulletin board so that people know what the PCCW is doing each month.
Work Log
A log of participation (volunteer hours) needs to be sent to the Deanery each year. Donna Kuhnen has started this list.
Fall Festival
It was suggested that we set the quilt up at Festival Foods to help sell Raffle tickets. The quilt could be covered with plastic.
Coffee for Kitchen
It is the PCCW’s turn to purchase coffee for the kitchen. The cost will be $120.00. Margaret Julson made a motion to purchase the coffee and Mary Geisert seconded it. The motion was carried.
Donation for DCCW 75th
Ann.
The 75th anniversary of the LaCrosse DCCW will be celebrated in Thorp on August 7th and 8th. A motion was made by Margaret Julson to make a donation to the DCCW Mary Geisert seconded the motion, motion was carried. Also a motion was made by Jenny Geisert to pay for Donna Kuhnen to attend. Mabel Breid seconded it. The motion was carried.
